November PTA News

 

• The "Winter Wow" is slated for the afternoon of 09/12. Teachers and students are in charge this year and the PTA will be supporting them with our "decoration skills". The first planning meeting will be held on  Friday 24/11 after drop off in the canteen.

• The dress code for Winter Wow will once again be black bottoms and a white top with red and green accessories.  Invitations will be sent out soon!

• The Usborne books sale will be held this Friday, 17 November in the lobby.  Stock up on English books before the holiday!

• The PTA will be organizing a used book sale as part of "mother tongue week" in February. If you are traveling to your home country this holiday season, please consider bringing back some gently used books in your mother tongue to donate or sell.

• The ATUT PTA will be holding their used book sale Next Friday 24/11 in the lobby.  All proceeds will go to St. Albert’s Shelter for Women and Children.  Please help them support this worthy cause!

• Our next coffee morning is this Tuesday the 21st at 08:30 at Grande Papa on Zwycieska St. Please reply on the Facebook invite so we know to look for you! If you are not on Facebook, you can email us at wispta2017@gmail.com

• The general PTA meeting will be on 28/11 at 08:00. We will be voting on the updated bi-laws so please review them (found in managebac and Facebook) before the meeting.

• We would like to share a finalized budget for the year but we are still waiting on a few families to submit their PTA fees. Please, if you have it yet paid your 100 zloty per child, do so as soon as possible.

October PTA News

 

• WIS is growing! We have new friends in PK and grades 6,8 and 10! Class Reps are still in the process of collecting contact information for the PTA directory.

• Friday is Teacher Appreciation Day! The PTA will be giving cakes to the PYP and MYP teachers (in the PYP teacher's room) and the staff (in the FEM kitchen) to thank them for all that they do!

• Don’t forget the Halloween Party is Saturday October 21 from 16:00 to 18:00pm.  We will be having a costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest, so bring your carved pumpkins and wear your most creative/scary/funny costumes! You should have received your invitation in your email.  If you haven't, please RSVP here.

• To encourage the spirit of community, Ovo Bar and Restaurant in the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel is offering a discount for their Sunday Brunch to all WIS families and faculty and staff. Book your table at ovo.restaurant@hilton.combooking code “FEM” See promotional poster below for more details.  Hope to see you there!

• Our October Coffee morning will be at Legal Cakes (Plac Tadeusza Kościuszki 6) on October 17 at 8:30am.

• We are in the process of putting together a Booster Club for Wolves Sports Teams who will provide food for future home sporting events and help spread Wolves Spirit throughout the school community!  If you are interested in becoming a part of this exciting venture, email wispta2017@gmail.com!

• The annual winter concert (Winter Wow) will be held on Saturday, December 9.  More details coming soon.

• We are in the process of scouting locations for the Parent/Teacher Evening out.  If you have any ideas or if you are interested in helping out, email wispta2017@gmail.com!

• Zumba starts this week, Thursday, 12 October at 19:00 in the small gym Parents and teachers welcome!

• Book Club begins this month, our first meeting will be on Monday, 23 October at 19:00 at Winnica (Plac Solny 14) Bring a book you have enjoyed and think would be a good selection for the group to read. We will vote at the end of the evening and discuss it at the November meeting.

Greetings from your 2017/2018 Class Representatives!

 

We just wanted to update and/or remind you of a few of the upcoming things happening in the PTA.

 

• If you haven’t already completed a written PTA directory form, please complete the online form found here 

• The first Coffee Morning of the year will be Tuesday, 19 September immediately after drop off in the cafeteria.  Catch up with old friends or meet some new ones and enjoy some coffee and treats!

• Don’t forget the FEM Community Day picnic is Saturday, 23 September! Bring your family for a Day of Fun!

• The Community Picnic needs volunteers! Sign up here early before all of the good jobs are taken;)  

• The Halloween Celebration will be held on Saturday, 21 October.  We have lots of volunteers, but are still looking for someone to lead the organizing.  If you are interested, please email wispta2017@gmail.com

We want to make this a great year for our children, but these fantastic events can’t happen without your help!  We understand that everyone is busy, but hope every parent will find some way to get involved!
